Vertical Locking Bar With .842 Diameter 8620 Steel Body For Standard, Hydraulic Roller, Or Tall Lifter Bore G.M. Or Aftermarket Cylinder Blocks.

New Crane “Ultra-Pro™” roller lifters are
absolutely the ultimate in state-of-the-art, drop-in design
premium quality roller lifters! They have been designed
to maximize Crane’s advantage as the only mechanical
roller lifter manufacturer with its own “in house” carburizing
heat-treat facilities. This unique capability allows us
to carefully control this critical phase of manufacturing
to produce the finest product available! Empirical design
and development techniques have been used to eliminate
any distortion effects of residual stresses resulting
from the heat treat process. New Ultra-Pro™ roller lifters
feature maximized strength; especially in the axle support
struts. This insures geometrically perfect tracking of
the roller wheel. Additionally,“super-premium” wheels,
axles and bearings made from the finest grades of alloy
steels are used to conquer even the most violent cam
lobe profiles currently designed or anticipated for the
next several years! These lifters represent the best combination
of lightweight, ultimate strength and reliability.
They should be used in all drag race applications
with spring seat pressures in excess of 300 lbs., and open pressures over 800 lbs. In addition, they should be used in any short-track circle or endurance racing application where valve
spring seat pressures exceed 250 lbs., and open pressures exceed 700 lbs. Use Crane Cams new Ultra-Pro™ series lifters
when absolute durability is necessary.
It should be further noted that new Crane Ultra-Pro™ roller lifters were Spintron® tested on a 1/2 mile dirt track (Sprint-car)
simulation for 11,000 laps (5500miles) with seat pressures of 260 lbs., open pressures of 700 lbs., and valve lift of .771” using an
extremely aggressive cam lobe profile. The rocker arms used in our tests were our own 1.8 ratio “Quick-Lift™”, shaft-mount,
Polymer-Matrix, composite bearing rockers. Test speeds were 5800-8200 rpm, with the Spintron® varying rpm just like race conditions.
After the test, our Ultra-Pro™ lifters
showed only incidental wear on the body, axle
support struts, wheels, and guide bars! After this
test, these same lifters ran tests with milder
spring loads for another 2000 miles without any failures. Theses tests were then repeated with a full season if sprint car and offshore racing without significant wear and zero failures!
